I attended the September 2023 hearing to voice my opposition to Petitioner’s request. I remain very much opposed to a STRR being allowed to operate in the neighborhood. Petition claimed that it would be a benefit to the neighborhood. I beg to disagree: A STRR is an un-regulated hotel without on-site Management or Staff. As a full-time Owner/Resident, my immediate concerns include: A disruption to the “feel” of the neighborhood (we are a true neighborhood where everyone knows everyone). Additional traffic on an otherwise quiet street Parking – Petitioner is allowing up to six guests Security – The neighborhood has a large number of young families/children and seniors. We will be placed in the position of not knowing who is coming and going. Potential use of neighborhood amenities which will be a selling point for Petitioner. Most importantly, I believe that the surrounding homes property values will be adversely affected - I don’t know anyone who would want to buy a home next to a STRR. As Petitioner has already advised @ her previous hearing, she intends to manage the property as an off-site Owner. As such, I remain at a loss as to how she will effectively and actively manage the behavior of her guests & property. As a neighbor, I don’t believe that it should be my responsibility to either monitor her guests behavior nor adapt my lifestyle around them. I ask that the Board deny her request as presented.
