Dear Members of the City of Carmel Board of Zoning and Appeals:
We are Eric and Debra Miller. We live at 672 Nottingham Court in Carmel, which is part of the
Springmill Streams subdivision. We’re submitting this letter in opposition to the requested Schneider
Accessory Building Variances (Docket Nos. PZ-2024-00212 V and PZ-2024-00213 V).
The entire northern edge of our property line is directly adjacent to the southern edge of the Schneiders’
property line. The sheer size of the Schneiders’ proposed building is well beyond what is contemplated
by Carmel’s ordinances, particularly in such close proximity to neighboring property owners. The
proposed structure will be clearly visible from the living areas of our home where we spend most of our
time. We believe the placement of such a large building will be detrimental to the value and salability of
our property.
Further, in 2013, when they built their current residence, the Schneiders agreed any new or future
construction on their property would conform with any and all applicable zoning or developmental
ordinances, but the proposed building clearly does not do so. As such, we respectfully ask that the board
deny the requested variances.
Sincerely,
Eric and Debra Miller
