Brett:
We are concerned Residents of the Village of West Clay regarding the proposed new development on Towne Road.
We have attended the meetings held by the developer and are not sure why the City of Carmel would be interested
in this kind of project next to our unique neighborhood.
There are plenty of options in Carmel and the surrounding areas for buyers interested in the proposed price point
of this development.
We moved to THE Village of West Clay from Austin Oaks in Zionsville 7 years ago. After driving by for several years,
we decided this unique neighborhood is where we were going to Retire.
The proposed project on Town Road is not consistent with what the West Clay neighborhood has added to the City
of Carmel. To us it looks like it would make sense for somewhere else in the INDY Metro area but not Carmel.
This project is obviously crowding in as many houses and duplexes as possible to take advantage of but not
contribute to this unique area in the City of Carmel.
Carmel has approved many high-density developments with apartments in the central core district of the city. This
proposed development does not fit in the WEST CLAY area of Carmel.
We have seen this kind of attempt by developers in Zionsville and other areas we have lived in prior to moving to
Carmel. Developers trying to make as much money as quickly as possible without adding any value to the overall
community.
Why would Carmel want this high density non consistent type of development in the West Clay Area? This is
Carmel and not Westfield, Noblesville, or other town in the METRO INDY area.
Maybe someone as in West Clay and many other neighborhoods in Carmel can add something on that land that
will add value long term to the City of Carmel.
Let this high density bland non conformant development go elsewhere in the metro area and not be part of the
West Side of Carmel.
