SAFETY NOTES:
1. Each employee will be given a safety orientation. The orientation will cover the
following items:
1. A description of the accident prevention program:
1. A formal written accident prevention program as described in
local OSHA regulations. It consists of this safety orientation,
safety meetings, and self-inspections.
2. Basic safety rules that all employees must follow. They are:
1. Never do anything that is unsafe in order to get the job done.
2. Do not remove or disable any safety device! Keep guards in
place at all times on operating machinery.
3. Never operate a piece of equipment unless you have been
trained and are authorized.
4. Use your personal protective equipment whenever it is
required.
5. Obey all safety warning signs.
6. Working under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or
using them at work is prohibited.
7. Do not bring firearms or explosives onto company property.
8. Horseplay, running and fighting are prohibited
9. Clean up spills immediately. Replace all tools and supplies
after use. Do not allow scraps to accumulate where they will
become a hazard. Good housekeeping helps prevent
accidents.
3. Job Attire and Personal Protective Equipment
1. Suitable clothing must be worn; long pants, at least short-
sleeved shirts, and adequate footwear.
2. Hard hats, safety glasses or goggles must be used when a
potential hazard exists.
3. Hearing protection must be used in high noise areas. •
4. Gloves (as needed).

GENERAL NOTES:
1. All work shall be in accordance with the following Indiana codes:
1. 2014 Indiana Building Code – IBC Code – 2012 Edition
2. 2009 Indiana Electrical Code – NFPA 70 – NEC 2008 Edition
3. 2014 Indiana Fire Code – IFC – 2012 Edition
2. The photovoltaic system described herein shall be built by a locally licensed
electrical contractor or a licensed general contractor
3. All equipment shall be listed and labeled per recognized electrical testing
laboratory and installed per the listing requirements and the manufacturer’s
instructions.
4. All inverters shall be inspected before commissioning, testing, and operation of
the system.
5. All outdoor equipment shall be NEMA 3R rated or greater.
6. Any substituted material, substituted equipment, or installation changes must be
submitted to the Engineer for evaluation and approval prior to final installation.
7. Contractor is responsible for providing any additional work or adjustments caused
by substituted equipment needed for compliance or proper installation.
8. The Contractor shall ensure that the complete system is installed as described in
these drawings.
9. Contractor shall provide and install all equipment shown on the drawings except
work labeled “by others” or “by utility”.
10. All string wiring from PV modules to inverters shall be a minimum of #10AWG
copper PV Wire, 2000V insulation.
11. Color code: 480/277V-BOY (Brown, Orange, Yellow), 120/240V-BOB (Black,
Orange (or lagged high leg), Blue), 120/208V-BRB (Black, Red, Blue)
12. All conduit dimensions are reference inside diameter of conduit.
13. Contact Indiana 811 (https://indiana 811.org) before performing any
underground work.
14. All exposed electrical connections to be coated in NO-OX-ID to prevent corrosion.
Check at year one to assure application is still present.
15. Toque all connections, mechanical and electrical to manufacturers specifications.
Check torque at year one to assure proper connection.
16. Contractor is responsible for acquiring all electrical and construction permits.
17. Contractor is responsible for project Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.
