2005 Indiana Residential Code.
2. Design of townhouses shall be in
accordance with seismic provisions.
3. Exterior walls with a fire separation
distance less than 3 feet shall have not
less than a one.hour fire4resistive
rating with exposure from both sides.
4. Garages shall be separated from the
residence and its attic areas by a smoke
separation of not less than 1/2-inch
gypsum board applied to garage side.
Garages beneath habitable rooms shall be
separated from all habitable rooms above
by not less than 5/8-inch Type X gypsum
board or equivalent. The structure
supporting the separation shall also be
protected by not Jess than 1/2-inch
gypsum board or equivalent.
5. Area of garage floors used for
parking of automobiles or other vehicles
shall be sloped to facilitate the
movement of liquids to an approved drain
or toward the main vehicle entry doorway
6. Every sleeping room shall have at
least one open able window or exterior
door that meets the minimum area and
dimension requirements per code.
7. Townhouses shall be separated by
fire-resistance rated wall assembly.
8. Each individual townhouses shall be
structurally independent.
9_ Townhouse common walls shall be
continuous from the foundation to the
underside of the roof sheathing, deck,
or slab, and shall extend the full
length of the common wall.
10. Buildings that are heated or
mechanically cooled shall be constructed
so as to provide the required thermal pe
performance of the various components.

The building & Sewer Shall be pvc sewer pipe meeting ASTM specifications 3034 SDR 35 of latcst revision; or vitrified clay pipe, meeting'
ASTM spccifieations C-700 for extra strength clay pipe of latest revision unless other materials are hereby permitted in writing. The sewer
shall be installed in accordance with ASTM 2321 for pvc pipe and the Unifoml Plumbing Code for the State of Indiana. All installations shall be
in strict compliance with pertinent City of Carmel ordinances. Back Water check valves shal1 be installed in accordance with City Code Sec'tion
9-122(a), and sections P3008.1 and.2 of the International Residential Code. All building sewers shaH be 6" diameter. .
All installations shall be "ooen trench" inspected and aporoved bv the Carmel Sewer Deoartment before anv backfilline is done. Non-
compliance may result in digging up the sewer installation andlor denial offuturc sewer pennits andlor denial ofwatcr connections.
No footing or foundation drains or other sources of ground water or stonn water shall be permitted to enter the public sewer.
Sewer insoections should be requested at (3 i 7) 571-2648 one to four hours in advance.

No inspections or installations wiil be made on Saturday or Sunday or holidays unless arrangements are made at least 24 hours in advance. ~11
