Re: BZA Docket No. PZ-2025-00004 V: Silas Pool Setback Variance
Dear Ms. Brooks:
At the meeting held on Monday, February 24, 2025, the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer took the
following action regarding the Development Standards Variance (V) request filed by you for the property located at
14399 Kelso Court:
APPROVED: Silas Pool Setback Variance – Development Standards Variance approval for:
• PZ-2025-00004 V: Minimum Side and Rear Yard Setbacks: A swimming pool, or its deck or
equipment shall be set back a minimum of the greater of the following: 10-ft from the side lot line: 6-
ft. from side lot line granted, and 3-ft from any easement (18-ft from rear lot line required), 15-ft
from rear lot line granted.
Please be advised that per Article 9.15 of the Unified Development Ordinance, the aforementioned Development
Standards Variance approval is valid for three (3) years. By that time, either continuous construction of the
improvements must be underway, or a written request for a one-time, six-month extension of the approval must
have been received and approval granted by this Department. The expiration date of the approval is Feb. 24, 2028.
Please include a copy of this letter with any permit application.
