We are happy to support re-orienting the dumpster enclosure so that it is useable and screens the dumpsters as intended. I can administratively approve this revision and add it to your existing project file – Docket No. PZ-2021-00250 ADLS Amend. Please send me a photo of the dumpster once the work has been completed. Please work directly through our Building Department on obtaining a permit for this work (if needed). Nick Mishler would normally be your contact, but he is on vacation this week. I have copied Bill Hohlt as well, who should be able to help you on this while Nick is out. Joe, please add these emails and attached documents to the above-mentioned file on Laserfiche. Tony, please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for the note, really great hearing from you. I hope you are keeping busy these days! I’m going to let Rachel help you with this. I think administrative ADLS and permit but will let her make that call. I appreciate the attention to detail you’re showing here. Feel free to keep me in the loop. Mike H From: Tony Halsey <thalsey@kiterealty.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2025 5:53 PM To: Hollibaugh, Mike P <MHollibaugh@carmel.in.gov> Subject: Rangeline Crossing dumpsters Mike, I hope you’re well and that 2025 has been good to you. We have a situa?on at Rangeline Crossing I’m trying to address rela?ng to the dumpsters behind Fresh Market. When The Fresh Market went in, we expanded that dumpster enclosure at the south end (EarthFare used to have a compactor but took it when they le?). We designed the new enclosure so that doors open to the east, the same as the adjacent enclosure farther north. In those enclosures the dumpsters are wheeled out and emp?ed. Unfortunately, the smaller wheelable dumpsters are not sufficient for the trash needs here and there is not room for a truck to pick up the larger, non-wheelable dumpsters. So they just sat two large dumpster in the open drive south of the enclosure, and the enclosure sits largely empty. You can see on the a?ached pictures it’s pre?y unsitely. To fix this, I want to reorient the southern enclosure so that there is a solid brick wall on the east side and put the gates on the south side. My crude markup of the picture and a?ached “Exhibit A” show this. Two dumpsters could then stack within the enclosure, and we have confirmed with the trash company that they could service it this way. Can I go straight to building permit to do this, or would I need to go through ADLS to review the eleva?ons? I’ll direct an architect on the drawings for it based on what you tell me. Thanks!
