Hi Tracy,
I hope you’re doing well.
I wanted to inform you that I spoke with Director Pease this morning—he’s copied in this
thread. He will be checking with his staff regarding the meeting. Could you kindly provide
the address and confirm the time? He also mentioned that if attending isn’t feasible, they
would be happy to schedule something at their offices instead.
Regarding the style and size of the homes, this can be discussed further at the Plan
Commission Committee meeting, and I’d be happy to ask the question. Additionally, I
spoke with Director Hollibaugh earlier today, and he also offered the option of meeting at
the Department of Community Services to discuss the project with a City planner as it
pertains to City code, processes and requirements of a developer or petitioner. It is worth
noting, as stated at the PC meeting on 2/18/2025, the petitioner is following the City code
for the underlying R1 zoning.
I completely understand your concerns and want to ensure transparency throughout this
process. For the record, I’ve copied Bric Butler so this communication can be shared with
the other commission members.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.
Very kindly,
Shannon

Subject: Neighborhood meeting
Hi Shannon,
I wanted to make you aware that Thursday 2/27/25 at 6:00 pm, is the builder meeting. The
neighborhood would like to know if a city engineer could attend and help educate us on the
process of the floodplain. This is a major concern for many of us bc of the proximity of our
homes. In addition is there a way that we could suggest custom ranch homes so that way with the
elevation they aren’t towering over our homes and backyards?
Thank you for representing the city of Carmel and helping navigate through this process.
Regards
Traci Runge
