E. Site Narrative
Murphy Hall, Section 2 is the second of two sections of this proposed development in Western Clay
Township. The second of two large lakes and an extensive wall and landscape buffer along Town
Road will be part of this section. The site is located on the northwest comer of 141 st Street and
Towne Road. This section contains 22.649 of the 55 acres for the overall project. The property is
zoned S-1 and the proj ect will be developed meeting all the requirements of the Carmel Open Space
Ordinance.
F. Water Service
Water for the project will be supplied by the City of Carmel. Water main serving the project will be
extended from the proposed 8" water lines in Murphy Hall Section 1.
G. Sanitary Sewer Service
The sanitary sewer service will be provided by Clay Township Regional Waste District. The sewers
in Murphy Hall, Section 1 will be extended to serve Section 2. All sewer lines in the project will be
and 8" PVC SDR 35 pipe.
B. Storm Drainage
The storm water runoff will be collected in storm sewers and routed to a series of two lakes
providing storm detention for the site. The larger lake, Lake 1, will be constructed as part of section
1. Lake 2 is part ofthe proposed construction for Section 2. Murphy Hall will discharge in to Stultz
& Almond Regulated Drain which was previously reconstructed along the frontage of the site on the
south side of 141 st Street. Storm sewers in this subdivision will be regulated drains maintained by
the Hamilton County Surveyor's office.
I. Soils
Soil types found on the site are primarily Brookston-Crosby soils with some areas of Miami soils
Miami soils are typically deep well-drained soils, while Brookston- Crosby soils are generally deep
and somewhat poorly drained.
