6. Docket No. 07050011 ADLS Amend: Auto Outfitters - Signage
The applicant seeks approval for one new tenant wall sign, a monument sign face
change and a new awning with a sign. The site is located at 10560 N. Michigan
St. and is zoned 1-1. Filed by Jerry Knoop of Auto Outfitters.
The applicant is requesting ADLS Amendment approval for new signs. An awning will be
placed on the ,southeast wall facing Michigan Rd. Vinyl signage for Auto Outfitters will be silk-
screened to the awning. The awning will be yellow in color to match other locations. The Dept
recommends the petitioner utilize a canvas awning, rather than a vinyl awning. Also, a
cabinet wall sign for Darrings Detail will be placed on the southwest facing wall (facing
Northwestern Drive). The Dept would prefer the petitioner have individually illuminated
letters, either mounted on a raceway or flush mounted. Finally, the existing ground sign face
will be changed to show the two tenants of the building. Please refer to your information packet
for further detail.
Note: This item only requires final approval by this committee.
The Department of Community Services recommends that the Special Studies Committee
approve the request after all comments and concerns have been addressed.
