Dear Mr. Steffen:
On Saturday, May 19,2007, your building permit referenced above was revoked by the Department of
Community Services of the City of Carmel, Clay Township, At this time, we would like to make you "'.
aware of some options regarding this situation,
First, if you do not have any intention of building the structure, or a modified version of the project, you
are able to apply for a refund of certain portions of the permit fee you paid, The fees available for
refund for this permit would be the Certificate of Occupancy cost of $55,50, and the fees for the three
(3) inspections that were assessed as required. The inspection fees were assessed as $57.50 each, so the
total for those is $172.50. The total amount you can then apply for in a refund request is: $228,00,
Attached is our refund request form, should you choose this course of action.
If, however, you intend to appeal the decision, or intend to apply for a variance, in order to proceed with
the project or a modified version of the project, you could hold off on applying for a refund. If you
gained approvals, we could then reinstate the permit. If there were changes to the project from that
which was originally approved, we would have you apply for an amendment/revision to the original
permit.
