DETERMINING THAT NO TIF TAX SHALL BE LEVIED PURSUANT TO INDIANA CODE 6-1.1-21.2-12 FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008 WHEREAS, Indiana law allows for the imposition of a tax increment replacement tax on propelty located within the City pursuanrto Indiana COGe 6-1.1-212 (the "TfFTax"): and WHEREAS, pursuant to Indiana Code 6_1.1-21.2-12, the Common Council is authorized to reduce or eliminate a TIF Tax levied on property located within the City's jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that any 2008 TIF Tax will be unduly burdensome on Carmel taxpayers, and therefore should not be levied. NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOI~ YED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: Section I: The foregoing Recitals are incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2: No TIF Tax shall be levied pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1-21.2 for calendar year 2008. Section 3: The Camlel Redevelopment Commission shall report to the Department of Local Government Finance that the City of Carmel has determined not to levy the TIF Tax on property located within any allocation area subject to the City's jurisdiction for calendar year.2008.
