Dear Mr. Burke:
The City has received your comment letter and drawings dated December 13, 2005 based upon the City
review oOune ] 5,2005.
The comments from the City review have been satisfactorily addressed with the following exceptions:
COMMENTS CONSTRUCTION PLANS
3. Structure 679 is located inside the limits of sidewalk in the right-of-way. This is not in accordance
with City standard. Is there anything that can be done to move this structure? The City
understands why it is located at this point. Please locate structure 679 under the curb and
install a curb box inlet over the structure.
7. Please add note to locate water valves, manhole castings & frames outside of pavement, curbs and
walks within the right-of-way. The added note on Sheet CIOl repeats the word "frame."
Please revise.
Per a letter dated June 8, 2005, the Department understands that the plans reviewed for this comment letter
addressed Crossroads review conunents. The leller outlines that unless the plans are changed, no additional
review is required by their office.
These comments represeilt the Departmcnt ofEngineiring's second review of the construction plans for
tlTis project. We request that all responses to our coniments be provided in writing. Failure to provide
written response may Jesuit in delay of the review pr0cess.
It is, critical that this office be made aware of all modifications made on the plans being re-submitted,
particularly if any such changes are considered "new" or fall outside of our previous review's. Please
provide revised plans including illl revisions. Please notify us of any changes and specifically state any
changes, including changes resulting from Plan Commission, BZA or other committee meetings.
All bonds and performance guarantees must be posted prior to Engineering Department approval. Also,
Board of Public Works and Safety approvals and any other govel11ing agency approvals (if required) must
be obtained prior to Engineering Department approval. .
An paving within the existing and proposed City right-of-\vay shall conform to the requirements of the
Department of Engineering. Please add a note to the drawings that the Contractor shall contact the
Department of Engineering to schedule a pre-construction meeting to review the Depaitment's construction
requirements, staff notification requirements, required inspections for certain stages of the work and to
review the authority of the Department as it relates to work within the existing and proposed City right-of-
way.

Dear Mr. Burke:
The Department of Engineering has reviewed the construction plans submitted for the May] 8 Technical
Advisory Committee & revised sets dated May 31, 2005 received by the Department on June 3, 2005 based
on Crossroads drainage review for this project. The Department reviewed the latest set submitted. The
Department offers the following comments:
COMMENTS CONSTRUCTION PLANS
I. Please provide a curb return radius of at least 20 feet at the intersection of Bird Cage Walk and the
Regency Building entrance.
2. Any street cuts mllst be delineated on the plan for sawcut, removal, and replacement.
3. Structure 679 is located inside the limits of sidewalk in the right-of-way. This is not in accordance
with City standard. Is there anything that can be done to move this structure? The City
understands why it is located at this point.
4. Suggest changing note referring to granular backfill \vithin the "Legend/Details" block on sheet
C401 to be in accordance with detaiI5/C802.
5. Please confirm that Board of Public Works & Safety approval was resolved for the proposed
entrance off of Bird Cage Walk.
6. Please delineate right-of-way paving within Horseferry and Bird Cage Walk with hatching, Please
add note to sawcut existing pavement \V'here adjacent to new pavement.
7. Please add note to locate water valves, manholc castings & frames outside of pavement, curbs and
walks within the right-of-way.
8. Please provide a water main trench detail that requires installation within the right-of-way to
conform to City backfill standards.
9. Will new right-oF-way be dedicated on the west side of Bird Cage Walk, just south of the
intersection with Horseferry?
10. Delete detail 7/C801 far curb in right-of-way. Please remove existing chairback curb & install new
valley gutter. Please include a Valley Gutter Detail.
11. Please contact the City's GIS Department as it relates to digital submission standards.

We have reviewed the construction plans submitted to the Hamilton County Surveyor~s
Of.fice on May 4. 2005 for this project and have the following comments:
1. The proposed project falls in The Village of West Clay Regulated drain and The
Village of West Clay watershed..
2. Stann water detention for the site is provided in the master plan for Village of
West Clay.
3. Please submit a Petition for Relocation and Reconstruction (52.5) for the removal
of 13 feet oftbe Village of West Clay Drain. We will also need a bond for 120%
of construction cost to remove the regulated drain. The applications arc available
on OUT webstte at httJ.:llwww.co.hamilton.in.us. go to Departments, Surveyor. and
Forms.
4. Please submit an outlet permit for the discharge into the Village of West Clay
Regulated Drain.
5. Please submit a Subdivision Non-enforcement Agreement to reduce the easement
of the Village nfWest Clay Regulated Drain to the casement widths shown on the
plat fOT Village of West Clay, Section 3001-A, Village Center, Part 2.
