Docket No. 61-02 ADLS Amend- Old National Bank - Carmel Banking Center Petitioner seeks an amendment of the Architectural Design, Lighting, Landscaping & Signage to Remodel and expand the existing building (Walden Bookstore) into a financial institution. The site is located at 1430 South Rangeline Road. The site is zoned B- 3/Business. Filed by I. William 'White of A.I. Armstrong, me. The applicant is requesting approval to convert the existing Walden Books site into a financial institution. Please refer to the informational booklet distributed with the agenda last month. The applicant has not submitted revised information to date. The ADts amendment will only require approval by the Committee. There were several concerns raised by the Conunittee last month that the applicant should carne to the meeting prepared to discuss/address. They include but are not limited to the following: 1. Addition of landscaping. 2. Revision of logo style signs from that proposed. 3. Revision of ground sign to include address and cornice. 4. Alternatives to proposed building exterior. Desire by the committee to see more dryvit and brick and less aluminum. 5. Concern over the height of the tower. The Department has reviewed the revised building elevations and do not consider them to be an improvement over what was originally presented. We request that the applicant have their architect attend the meeting to discuss the design theme and concepts with the Committee. The Department recommends that the Special Studies Committee approve the ADLS application after all comments and concerns have been addressed.
