Meridian Street - Suite 530: Indianapolis, IN 46032 Re: Guilford Townhomes Building 17 Dear Mr. Marsh, 317.5'9.6927 N.1 317.5; 3.8937 lax 13023 iockburn Place Pishars, Indiana 46-JU schwarzanglneeringgrouo.mm Per your request I have evaluated the deck framing on the townhome building referenced above. It is my understanding that the municipal inspector has expressed concern about the support of the end joists. The end joists on the decks are approximately 6-feet long. The floor joists are spaced at 16 inches on center. The end joists are fastened at each end with MP5 framing angles by USP Connectors. I have determined that the structural capacity of the MP5 framing angles exceeds the loading. Therefore the angles as installed are structurally acceptable. The manufacturer of the angles, as well as the manufacturer of the hanger nails should verify that the corrosion protection of the angles/nails is compatible with the treatment of the lumber. I appreciate the opportunity to be of service and please contact me if you have any further questions or comments. My opinion, stated herein, is limited to those issues discussed. Other issues regarding the construction, if any, are beyond the scope of this letter. Regards, Schwarz Engineering Group, Inc. I? - ohn D. Schwarz Structural Engineer 110. "i * 198Q0162 ' 2 .'O'.
