I just got an answer from the Director, and I have great news. You can co-locate on the water tower by
working with the Utilities Dept, along with going through the legal department and the board of public
works (BPW), and with that you can get an improvement location permit from Building and Code
services, and be on your way! You will not need to gel a use variance.
This answer was well worth the wait, right? Let me know if you have any other questions

Subject: cell tower antennas on top of water tower
Hi Sarah:
Dave came in to ask about some changes to cell tower antennas on top of water tower. I told him that he would
not need any sort of planning/zoning approvals for this, as long the height is the same. He is now headed your
way for a permit.
Thanks!

Subject: water tower & wireless communications antenna at shelborne & 131st st
Hi, Sarah - regarding the proposed wireless communications antenna mounted on the wafer tower at Shelborne
& 13151. I( does not need additional planningizoning approvals. Attached is an email that I wrote to someone from
Marilyn Kleist, Site Acquisition Consultant, Telecom Real Estate Development Services, Fortune Wireless, Inc.
regarding this project. Basically this is what I wrote to her: You can co-locate on the water tower by working with
the Utilities Dept, along with going through the legal department and the board of public works (BPM, and with
that you can get an improvement location permit from Building and Code services, and be on your way! You will
not need to get a use variance." Also attached is another email regarding the water tower and antenna.
Additionally, we only ask for an engineer's report or letter explaining how the structure can accommodate an
antenna.
