RE: Final Re-inspection 14072 Staghom, Permi it 020106B I entered unto Staghorn Drive to conduct a final re-inspection on the above referenced property at approx. 11:25 a.m.. I had trouble finding the house due to the numbering system on the mailboxes. I went to the end of the street and turned around and noticed the house number on the house with all the debris boxes in the driveway. I parked the Jeep in the driveway, got my GFCI tester, clipboard and inserted a notice of corrections over the field work sheet. i started to conduct a final inspection and first tired the door lever on the personnel door to the right of the overhead garage doors. The door was locked. I noticed a car pulling up and figured it was the builder and I started to conduct the final inspection with the exterior ac runt. A gentleman in a van stuck his head out of the window and asked me what i was doing. I was puzzled for a moment and than told him that I was conducting an inspection. He asked me what I was doing "testing his doors". I was completely puzzled and asked him, what? He angrily stated "what are you doing testing my doors". 1 was puzzled and thought he was the door installer. I told him I was conducting a final inspection. He asked me "who for". i told him it was a final inspection for the city of Carmel. He angrily said "he didn't care who it was for, why are you testing my doors". At this point if had a better idea that he may be the owner and asked him so. He responded yes. I started to explain the procedure of conducting a final inspection but the owner became more angry in his questioning ( no vulgar language ). I said fine we are done here (wanting to escape the situation as quickly as possible). I again tried to explain the inspection procedure when he told me to "get off his property". I entered the Jeep and pulled into the street. While in the street 1 looked to see the garage was full of personal property, I reviewed the field sheet and realized that this was a final re-inspection and should have knocked at the front door. When I realized my mistake I went back to the garage and asked the owner if I could talk with him for a moment. I apologized for my mistake of conduction a final inspection instead of a final re-inspection and told him that I should have knocked on the front door. He told me to "get off my property" which I did immediately. He followed directly behind me to the street and came up to the Jeep window and asked me something about my supervisor and my name. I gave him my business card and he said something about my conduct. I left the area at approx 10:40 a.m..
