medical facility. The site is located at 13500 North Meridian Street. The site is zoned B-

FlIed by Becky Feigh ofBSA Design for S1. Vincent Carmel Hospital.
The applicant is proposing significant modifications to the overall sign plan for the S1. Vincent
Cannel Hospital (see information packet distributed prior to the May 21 sl Plan Commission
meeting). The plan il1ustrates the hierarchy of signage proposed by the applicant to guide the
public into and around the site. There is a consistent design theme carried out across all sign
types.
In addition to ADLS approval, the applicant is seeking a number of variances to permit the
signage plan as proposed. The Department is in suppOli of the request for relief from that
Ordinance. The Ordinance is not designed to address the level of way finding and identification
needs associated with facilities such as a hospital campus.
The Special Studies Committee forwards a favorable recommendation to the full Plan
Commission by a vote of 5-0 on the plan as amended.
The Department recommends that the Plan Commission approve the ADLS petition as
amended.
