As a follow up to ray voice mail that I left for you yesterday, I just wanted to clarify my
question.
We submitted our drawings to the City of Caravel. Sarah Vlard at the city noticed that cur
latest revision date on the drawings did not match the Design release date[9-18-07) from
your office. I"m writing to understand the process. Since we submitted our drawings to
you, there have been some minor chances. nothing that has altered the building itself in
size or design. These are listed below. She said I should request from you a new Design
release date to reflect the latest change. Please let me know if these changes will
recuirs an amendment review.

Mr. Bennett,
Deerfield Construction came in to our office to submit for a building permit for a commercial new
structure, for a Red Robin restaurant at our local Clay Terrace mall. During the course of looking
through their paperwork and the questions and comments, we discovered that the set of prints that
they were submitting to our office were a revised set, with a later date than the date of the originally
released State Commercial Design Release.
We agreed to take in the permit application, and after review, release the permit for site/foundation
work only-as long as they agreed to sign a statement/conditional release stating:
1. The site and foundation plans being submitted with the newer set of plans were EXACTLY
the same as those submitted with the original release; (dated 9/18/07)
2. They understood that that they could not proceed past footing inspections without approval
from our office, which was contingent upon:
3. A copy of the new/updated State release, for the plans submitted to our office, (dated
10/16/07) including a signed affidavit sticker that these plans are the exact copy of what
was sent to your office, to obtain the updated CDR.
They came in with the addendum, dated 10/25/07. However, it says that the only systems amended
are ELEC and PLUM. A representative of Deerfield told me these were the only systems that had
changed from the set released on 9/18/07, to the set being released on 10/25/07. However, we got
the impression during our meeting with them, that there had been more substantial changes.
Before I process this amendment/revision-so that we can fully release the project, I would like to
know if your addendum, along with the original release, does now cover all the work being done for
which they are trying to pull a permit, based on their plan set dated on 10/16/07?
If you could let me know, as soon as you get a chance, I would really appreciate it. They are
extremely anxious to get their full release-but we do not want to review/release anything that your

did talk to the construction manager for the Red Robin at Clay Terrace today. He and I reviewed his updated
plans and I have no objections to releasing their permits at this time. The permit # is 07100133.
Also, I did receive a set of plans for a 2',d floor project at Carmel St. Vincent Hospital, However I did not receive
any of the DOCS information sheets of the Construction Design Release form the State. Do you have that info?
