Division of Building and Code Services VIA CERTIFIED MAIL April 25, 2007 Lloyd & Ruth Jarnagin 507 Arthur Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46280 RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION - LAND USE Dear Mr. & Mrs. Jarnagin: This letter is being provided to inform you that our department has recently received some concerns regarding 507 Arthur Dr., in Clay Township, a property listed under your ownership. This property is currently zoned residentially (R3), which does not permit for business operations to be run from the property. The only standards that permit for a business to be run from a residential property are the Home Occupation standards of §25.18 of the Carmel Zoning Ordinance. An inspection was performed of the property on April 20, 2004. On that occasion a large pile of scrap metal was being stored in the back yard and more inside the garage. During our conversation I explained to you the reasons why this type of activity is a violation and how storing this material outdoors is a problem. You were very kind in your treatment of me during my visit and I will give you enough time to find some helpers to remove the scrap metal from your property.
