RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION - LAND USE
Dear Mr. Lawless:
An inspection of your property at 11010 Westfield Boulevard, in Clay Township, was recently
conducted after receiving several citizen complaints and was found to be in violation of Carmel
Clay Land Use Regulations. All home occupations must meet the provisions set forth in §25.18
Home Occupation standards (See Enclosed) of the Carmel Zoning Ordinance- The provisions
that have been violated on your property include, but are not limited to:
B. Character:
1. The Home Occupation shall not change the character of the Dwelling, Lot, or
Parcel;
2. The Dwelling shalf not bear any indication from the exterior that it is being utilized
in whole or in part for any purpose other than a Dwelling-,
3. The Home Occupation shall not be permitted outside storage or display of
materials in connection with the Home Occupation;
4. The Home Occupation shall not be permitted signs other than those normally
permitted in the district in which the Home Occupation is located.
The Home Occupation would also violate §25.18.02 Excluded Uses, (D) automobile repair.
The various violations found at your property were discussed (Mad Skills Custom Paint Worx sign,
cars being stored, garage being used for performing work, outside storage of materials, etc.) were
during our meeting at your property on July 10, 2007_
These Land Use violations must be corrected on or before August 13, 2007. Failure to abide by
the conditions of the Ordinance will result in additional enforcement action to include daily
