CARME= ZONING ORCINANCC 7-160. SEC 70N 29.4.2(3): The Budding Commissioner (Director, Department of
Community Development or staff) shall approve or deny the improvement location permit (building pemtlt) within five (5)
working days at the receipt of ,he written application form and accompanying matenals. The improvement location permit
(building penrnt) shall be issued when the proposed structure, improvement or use and its location conform in ad
respe= to this ordinance.
1. ONE completed improvement Location Permit (Building Permit) application.
2. TWO (2) complete sets of construction plans. Building elevations, foundation plan, floor plan and typical
wag section must be shown. AA cross-sections must be property detailed and labeled At lease one
cross-section must show R-values of building materials to ensure compliance with the Indiana Energy
Codes. If minimum R-values are not met on cross-section an Energy Code Compliance Worksheet must
be completed. If manufactured trusses are used, a diagram must be included with building plans for all
misses being used. Truss diagrams must be stamped with the sea] of the registered architect or
engineer who is responsible for that design. Only Indiana registrations will be recognized. If a
commercial construction, olars must be stamped aooroved by the Indiana State Deoartment of Fire
Prevention & Building Safety. Indicate total height of building on plans
3. ONE copy of sewer permit (from C;ty of Carmel Engineering Dept, Hamilton Western Utilities or Clay
Regional Sewer District wnic.lever applies), or septic permit (Hamilton County Health Department).

5. THREE (3) copies of a site ptan or plot plan showing the following PECUIPED infour an (can be
obtained `nom the landowner or developer):
-.Name and address of designer of plan with date
-Name and address of owrer
-Lot number and subdivmcn or applicabte general description
-Lot drawn to scale - all dimensions

-Lct/Procerty lines
-Minimum from building setback "tne per approved development plan (include all front yard)
-,all roads, alleys, rights-of-way, etc.
-All other utilities and drainage rights-of-way and easements
-Any applicable flood plan area (Elevation Cartificate if necessary)
-3u ldirg pad elevation and lot comer elevators
-All accessory buildings - existing or proposed
-All sidewaks and driveways
-Sewer and water lines, septic system (tanks & flied system) and well location
-Drainage flow arrows
-AU drainage swaies and subsurface facilities (retention/detention areas, etc.)
-Sump pump (sump pump pits) showing discharge locations
-Geothermal heat pump disc.large locations
ALL CONSTRUCTION IS SU&ECTTC REiLD INSPECTION
If this Information Is not submitted, it will extend the time it takes to get an approved building permit.
