Statement of Special Use
Docket No. SU-16-02
We plan to enlarge a pond that currently exists on our property at 12411 Towne Road.
Due to its lower elevation our property accepts drainage from surrounding properties.
Our desire is to maintain existing drain tiles and connect them to new drain tiles as we
upgrade the drainage to the pond.
Statement of Support
A drainage pond currently exists in this location and is necessary to accept drainage from
this property and adjacent properties. The current pond and existing drain tiles are in
need of repair and ongoing maintenance. We feel that the work we have planned is
necessary to properly accommodate the drainage onto our property. We plan to enlarge
the pond utilizing recommendations from the Hamilton County Soil & Water
Conservation and Survey Departments and provide appropriate landscaping to minimize
erosion and make it aesthetically pleasing.

POND RECONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS
. Perimeter of pond to be constructed with a slope of approximately
5:1.
. Pond will be day-lined and pond depth is planned to average 81/2
feet.
.. Tile material leading to the pond will be rigid. All open pipe ends to
be fitted with animal guards.

e Existing tile to be tied to new tiles.
o Rock Check dam to be installed within the channel prior to
construction to serve as a sediment barrier.
~ Channel from pond to County ditch is planned to be open and lined
with riprap.
e Bank to be seeded with native pond vegetation and grasses to
minimize erosion and discourage geese. Heartland Restoration
Services of Ft. Wayne, Indiana will supply the seed mixes
appropriate to tbisapplication.
