RE: Clay Junior High School and Carmel Junior High School- 6-Month Extension
Dear Mr. Payne:
This letter is in response to the request for a one-time, 6-montb extension of the BZA approvals
of Docket Nos.: SUA-160-02, V-161~02 through V-16S-02, V-155-02 through V-159-02, V-166-
02, and SUA-154-02. Per our conversation this morning, the 6-month extension will encompass
all variances approved and listed above. The City of Carmel will grant the one-time extension of
6 months. The new terminating date ofthese approvals is:
March 23, 2004 for Docket Nos. SUA-154-02, V-155-02 through V-159-02, and V-161-02
through V -165-02.
July 27,2004 for Docket Nos. SUA-160-02 and V-166-02.

This letter is in response to the request for a one-time, 6-month extension of the BZA approvals
SUA-I 60-02, V-166-02, and SUA-154-02. The City of Carmel will grant the one-time extension
of 6 months. The new terminating date of these approvals is:
March 23, 2004 for (SUA-154-02) Section 21.02.07
July 27,2004 for (SUA-160-02) Section 21.02.07 and (V-166-02) Section 30.05.05

Dear Mr. Payne,
At the meeting held Monday, September 23, 2002, the Cannel/Clay Advisory Board of
Zoning Appeals took the following action regarding the Special Use Amendment and Development
Standards Variances filed by you on behalf of Cannel/Clay Schools - Carmel Junior High School
for property located at 300 South Guilford Road:
APPROVED with Conditions: Docl,\:et No. 8UA-154-02, !l Special Use Application in order to
construct a 26,847-square-foot addition to Carmel Junior High.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition with the
following Conditi.ons of Approval:
1. That the sixty-foot half right-of-way for the Old Meridian District boulevard be dedicated
off the south property lineaf Tax Parcel 16-09-25-00-00-019.000; and that the right-of-
way required off Tax Parcel 16-09-26-00-00-012.000 for the boulevard also be dedicated.
2. That all Technical AdVisory Committee be resolved satisfactorily prior to the issuance of
an hnprovement Location Permit.

25.07.01-2: Definitions: Traffic Directional Sign, in order to establish three (3) 14.5-
square-foot traffic directional signs.
The Boardvoted five (5) in favof,zeto (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-156-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25.07: 02-5 (b)(i) in order to establish two (2) Institutional Signs.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-157-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25.07.02-5(c)(i) in order to establish a 96-square-foot Institutional Wall Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-158-02, a Development Standards Variance petitio:t;l of Section
25. 07. 02-5 (c)(ii) in order to establish a 24-square-foot Changeable Copy Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-159-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25. 07. 02-5 (d) in order to establish a 6' 2" Ground Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
Please be advised that per Section 21.02.07: Time Limit of the Zoning. Ordinance, the.
aforementioned Special Use approval is valid for one (1) year. By that time, either continuous
cOnstruction of improvements must be underway, or a written request for a one-time, six-month
extension of the approval must have been received and approval granted by this Department.
The expiration date of these approvals is Tuesday, September 23,2003.
Please be advised that per Section 25.07.07: Sign Permits of the Zoning Ordinance, the
signs approved pursuant to the aforementioned Pevelopment Standards Variances must be
established within one (1) year. The expiration date of the approvals is Tliesday,Septembe'r 23,
2003.
