Dear Mr. Payne:
This letter is in response to the request for a one-time, 6-month extension of the BZA approvals
SUA-160-02, V-166~02, andSUA-154-02. The CityofCarrnel will grant the one-time extension
of 6 months. The new terminating date of these approvals is:
March 23, 2004 for (SUA-154-02) Section 21.02.07
July 27, 2004 for (SUA-160-02) Section 21.02.07 and (V-166-02) Section 30.05.05

RE: Clay Junior High School and Carmel Junior High School- 6-Month Extension
Dear Mr. Payne:
This letter is in response to therequest for a one-time, 6-month extension of the BZA.approvals
of Docket Nos.: SUA-160-02, V-161-02 through V-165-02, V-155-02 through V-159-02, V-166-
02, and SUA-154-02. Per our conversation this morning, the 6-month extension will encompass
all variances approved and listed above. The City of Carmel will grantthe one-time extension of
6 months. The new terminating date of these approvals is:
March 23, 2004 for Docket Nos. SUA-154-02, V-155-02 through V-159-02, and V-161-02
through V -165-02.
July 27,2004 for Docket Nos. SUA-160-02 and V-166-02.

At the meeting held Monday, September 23, 2002, the Carmel/Clay Advisory Board of
Zoning Appeals took the following action regarding the Development Standards Variances filed by
you on behalf of Carmel/Clay Schools - Clay Junior High School for property located at 5150 East
126th Street:
APPROVED: Docket No. V-161":02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25.07.01-2: Definitions: Traffic Directional Sign in order to establish three (3) 14.5-
square- foot traffic directional signs.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V~162-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25.07.02-5(b)(i) in order to establish two (2) Institutional Signs.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-I 63-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25.07.02-5(c)(i) in order to establish a 74-square-foot Institutional Wall Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.

25.07. 02-5 (c)(il) in order to establish a 24-square-foot Changeable Copy Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition.
APPROVED: Docket No. V-165-02, a Development Standards Variance petition of Section
25. 07. 02-5 (d) in order to establish a 6' 2" Ground Sign.
The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving.the petition.
Please be advised that per Section 25.07..07: Sign Permits of the Zoning Ordinance, the
signs approved pursuant to the aforementioned Deve19pment Stano.ards Variances must be
established within one (1) year. The expiration date of the approvals is Tuesday, September 23,
2003.

letter with your application materials in order to assist the Department's review.

Dear Mr. Payne,
At the meeting held Monday, January 27, 2003, the Cannel/Clay Advisory Board of Zoning
Appeals took the following action regarding the Special Use Amendment and Development
Standards Variance petitions filed by you on behalf of the CannellClay School Corporation:
APPROVED with Conditions: Docket No. SUA-160-02, a petition under Section 5.02: Special
Uses in order to construct a 67,976-square-foot addition to Clay Junior High. The Board voted
five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the petition with the following Conditions of
Approval:
1. That the five feet of additional right-of-way for East 126th Street be dedicated off
the south property line of Tax Parcel 16-10-28-00-00-050.000 adjacent to the
existing forty-foot half right-of-way.
2. That the eastern middle curb cut be closed,
3. That any new perimeter fencing be located such that the existing tree lines remain
undisturbed.
4. That all Technical Advisory Committee issues be resolved satisfactorily prior to
the issuance of an Improvement Location Permit.

APPROVED: Docket No. V-166-02, a petition to vary Section 5.04.01 in order to construct a 45'
4" auditorium q:I1 site. The Board voted five (5) in favor, zero (0) opposed, thereby approving the
petition.
Please be advised that per Section 21.02;07: Time Limit of the Zoning Ordinance, the
aforementioned Special Use approval is valid for one (1) year. By that time, either continuous
construction of site improvements must be undenvay, or a written request for a one-time, six-
month extension of the approval must have been received and approval granted by this
Department. The expiration date bfthis approval is Tuesday, January 27, 2004.
Please be advised that per Section 30.05.05: Time Limit of the Zoning Ordinance, the
aforementioned Development Standards Variance approval is valid for one (1) year. By that
time, either continuous construction of the improvements must be undenvay, or a written request
for a one,..time, six-month extension of the approval must have been received and approval
granted by this Department. The expiration dateofthe approval is Tuesday, January 27,2004.
*When applying for Improvement Location Permits for this site~you will need to
submit a set of Construction Plans to the Division of Planning & Zoning foi' confirmation
review.
