Proposed Use of Property: This property is a church. We also provide meeting space for other local non-profit
organizations, Legacy HOAs, first responder training, etc.
Project Description: Harvest Church Variances
Section of UDO being varied from: Harvest Church is seeking a sign variance from UDO section 5.39(H)(2): Signs not
facing any public street right of way not allowed; Three (3) requested (3 wall signs). The sign variance is for an
additional monument sign on our new south entrance on River Road. This monument sign would be a matching addition to
current monument sign we have at our north entrance. We would request to modify one wall sign on our north exterior
lobby wall and add two additional exterior building wall signs for our campus. All three signs would not face River Road.
We are also requesting pergolas and swings for our outdoor space to complement our current playground and green
space. These areas are open for public use as well as the Legacy HOA's. These outdoor features are not on River
Road.
Explanation of why variance/waiver is being requested: We are requesting the 2nd River Road monument sign for traffic
approaching from the south on River Road to minimize confusion on where to access the south parking lot. Our building
exterior wall signs are for our campus branding and identity. The pergolas and adult swings are to enhance our outdoor
gathering places. The outdoor areas are specially designed to be open to the public year round. These areas are used
frequently, both by our congregation and by our Legacy homeowner neighbors. We get many visitors in this area to visit
our historic silo and gather in this green space. We host on a regular basis the Legacy HOA meetings. We also feel that
if the Thomas Marcuccilli Nature Park is developed in the future next door, our outdoor area would be open and
complement the park as well.
