The attached document is a legal requirement to notify you of our request to obtain a reduction in our property line variance limit. We are appealing to the City of Carmel for a reduction in the property line variance on the northeast side of the property. The current variance is 10 feet from the property line. We are requesting an allowance for a 3 foot reduction, or 7 foot variance. This variance change would allow us to legally construct an attached covered patio on the northeast corner of our house. The variance is required because, due to the angled property line, the single northeast post of our planned patio would set withing the existing 10 foot variance limit.
