Present Use of Property: Single Family Residential
Proposed Use of Property: Single Family Residential
Project Description: Fehsenfeld Accessory Building Setback Variance
Section of UDO being varied from: The property owners are proposing to construct a small outbuilding at the entrance
to their driveway to serve as a drop-off point for packages.
UDO Section 5.02 (B)(1)(a)(i): Minimum 25-ft setback of an accessory building behind principal building required;
Proposed accessory building is located 830 ft in front of the principal building.
Explanation of why variance/waiver is being requested: Because of the proliferation of e-commerce today, many
households received multiple packages per week, or even per day. The subject property was designed well before this
trend and the home is accessed from a gated entry and a driveway of approximately 900 feet, or about two city blocks.
This is an inconvenience to delivery drivers and to the property owner. It also raises security risks. Construction a small
outbuilding for package drop-off will resolve these issues.
