BENCHMARK DATA
ORIGINATING BENCHMARK:
BENCHMARK ELEVATIONS FOR THIS PROJECT WERE DERIVED USING THE
NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY ONLINE POSITIONING USER SERVICE
(O.P.U.S) AND ARE REFERENCED TO THE NAVD '88 DATUM.
SITE TBMs:
TBM #1: A CUT SQUARE ON TOP OF THE CONCRETE CURB ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF 116th STREET, IMMEDIATELY EAST OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE
GRAVEL DRIVE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE SITE.
EL: 832.38 (NAVD 88)
TBM #2: A CUT "X" ON TOP OF THE CONCRETE TOP OF THE BRICK
HEADWALL OVER CARMEL CREEK, AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE
WALL.
EL: 830.09 (NAVD 88)
NOTES
1.THIS SURVEY REFLECTS ABOVE GROUND INDICATIONS OF UTILITIES AND INFORMATION
AVAILABLE FROM UTILITY COMPANIES. THE SURVEYOR MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT THE
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN COMPRISE ALL SUCH UTILITIES IN THE AREA, EITHER
IN SERVICE OR ABANDONED. THE SURVEYOR FURTHER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN ARE IN THE EXACT LOCATION INDICATED, ALTHOUGH
HE DOES CERTIFY THAT THEY ARE LOCATED AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE FROM THE
INFORMATION AVAILABLE. THE SURVEYOR HAS NOT PHYSICALLY LOCATED THE

2.CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY DEPTHS OF ALL EXISTING ONSITE UTILITIES PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION TO CONFIRM THERE ARE NOT ANY CONFLICTS WITH OTHER UTILITIES,
STORM SEWERS OR STREETS. CONFLICTS AFTER CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ARE SOLELY THE
CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY.
3.NO EARTH DISTURBING ACTIVITIES MAY TAKE PLACE WITHOUT AN APPROVED STORM
WATER MANAGEMENT PERMIT.
4.FOR INSTALLATION OF SANITARY AND WATER UNDER CITY STREETS AND COVER
REQUIREMENTS, SEE THE TRENCH DETAIL ON SHEET C800.
5.ALL WATER MAIN SERVICE LINES TO TERMINATE 5 FEET BEHIND SIDEWALK AND MARKED
WITH A 4" PVC PIPE WITH A PAINTED BLUE TOP.
6.POSI-CAPS OR EQUIVALENT ARE REQUIRED ON ALL WATER VALVE INSTALLATIONS AND
MEGA LUGS MUST BE INSTALLED AT ALL MECHANICAL JOINTS.
7.ALL DUCTILE IRON WATER MAINS SHALL BE BEDDED IN SAND FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE
TRENCH TO 12" ABOVE THE PIPE.
8.INSTALL WATER MAIN TRACER WIRE WITH ALL WATER MAINS LAID AND BLUE
REFLECTOR TAPE MUST BE INSTALLED 12" TO 18" ABOVE ALL WATER MAINS LAID.
9.ALL WATER MAINS SHALL BE DUCTILE IRON AND INSTALLED PER THE CITY OF CARMEL
SPECIFICATIONS.
10.FULL DEPTH GRANULAR BACKFILL PER CITY STANDARDS SHALL BE PLACED FOR ALL
STREET CROSSINGS.
11.FIRE HYDRANT MARKERS TO BE INSTALLED IN THE STREET PAVEMENT PERPENDICULAR
TO THE FIRE HYDRANT.
12.ONLY MUELLER HYDRANTS AND VALVES MAY BE USED.
13.SECTION 33121 FIRE HYDRANTS SHALL BE FULLY FUNCTIONAL TESTED AND APPROVED
BY CARMEL WATER UTILITIES PRIOR TO ANY COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS ARRIVING ON THE
SITE.
14.SECTION 3310.1 REQUIRED FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE ACCESS. APPROVED ASPHALT FIRE
APPARATUS ACCESS ROADS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO AND THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION
SITE DURING CONSTRUCTION. FIRE APPARATUS ACCESS ROADS MUST BE CAPABLE OF
SUPPORTING THE WEIGHT OF FIRE APPARATUS AND MAINTAINED CLEAR AT ALL TIMES.
