GENERAL DEMOLITION NOTES
A. REFER TO MECHANICAL, ELECTICAL, PLUMBING & SITE DEMOLITION
DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONAL DEMOLITION ITEMS
B. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR FIELD VERIFYING EXISTING CONDITIONS
PRIOR TO REMOVAL WORK.
C. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR OF ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING
SURFACE, EQUIPMENT, ETC. IN AREAS TO REMAIN. THIS INCLUDES TRAVEL
ROUTE FOR MATERIAL AND WORKMAN MOVEMENT, AND SURFACES DISTURBED
BY TEMPORARY PARTITIONS. ALL AREAS TO BE DEMOLISHED OR DISTURBED BY
ANY DEMOLITION ARE TO BE PATCHED TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT AND
PREPARED FOR NEW FINISH. IN ALL AREAS OUTSIDE LIMITS OF WORK NEW
FINISH IS TO BE COMPLETED TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT SURFACE.
D. ALL REMOVAL WORK TO BE COORDINATED WITH NEW WORK TO ENSURE
PROPER LIMITS AND SCOPE.
E. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR PATCHING/REPAIR TO FLOORS, WALLS, ETC.
UPON REMOVAL OF ANY FIXTURES, MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, WALLS, ETC.
F. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING WITH OWNER ANY
CONFLICTS BETWEEN CONSTRUCTION HOURS AND CHURCH SERVICES AND
ACTIVITIES.
G. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR MINIMIZING CONSTRUCTION AREAS
EXPOSED TO AND CHURCH SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES. IF AN AREA IS EXPOSED
TO AN OCCUPIED AREA, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE A SECURE, DUST
TIGHT TEMPORARY PARTITION SEPARATING CONSTRUCTION AREAS FROM
OCCUPIED SPACE.
H. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING EXISTING FIRE RATINGS AND
PATHS OF EGRESS FROM EXISTING BUILDING.
I. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING OPENINGS TO THE EXTERIOR
CAUSED BY DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING BUILDING.
J. EXISTING SANCTUARY DEMOLITION WORK TO BE COORDINATED W/ PHASE II
OF PROJECT
K. SALVAGE ALL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND TURN OVER TO CONSTRUCTION
MANAGER.

WALKS, CEILINGS, INTERIOR WALLS, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, OR
ANY OTHER BUILDINGS ITEMS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED
REMOVE GYPSUM BOARD/ METAL STUD WALL IN AREA NOTED BY DASHED LINES.
VERIFY EQUIPMENT TO BE RELOCATED OR DEMOLISHED IN DASHED AREAS.
REMOVE GLAZING, WOOD FRAME
REMOVE BRICK AND CMU WALL IN AREA NOTED BY DASHED LINES. VERIFY
EQUIPMENT TO BE RELOCATED OR DEMOLISHED IN DASHED AREAS. PROVIDE NEW
STEEL LINTEL WITH 8" BEARING AT EACH END NEEDLING AND SHORING AS
REQUIRED TO STABILIZE ANY REMAINING MASONRY ABOVE.
REMOVE PLATFORM, STEPS AND FRAMEWORK
REMOVE PROJECTION SCREEN. SALVAGE FOR OWNER REUSE.
REMOVE HANGING CROSS. SALVAGE FOR OWNER REUSE.
REMOVE STAIRS.
REMOVE EXISTING BAPTISMAL FONT & DISCONNET ANY ELECTRICAL OR
PLUMBING CONNECTIONS. SALVAGE FOR OWNER REUSE IN NEW BUILDING.
REMOVE EXISTING DOOR, FRAME, AND SIDELIGHT.
EXISTING STRUCTURE TO REMAIN.
REMOVE EXISTING FLOOR FINISHES.
SAWCUT TO REMOVE PORTION OF SLAB ON GRADE AND PARTIALLY EXCAVATE AS
NECESSARY FOR REPLACEMENT OF NEW FOOTINGS FOR NEW INTERIOR COLUMNS.
SEE STRUCTURAL DWGS.
REMOVE CONC. AND MASONRY. ALSO REMOVE ANY FOUNDATION TO ALLOW FOR
NEW WORK.
EXISTING PROJECTORS TO BE RELOCATED BY OWNER AT START OF PHASE II.
REMOVE CONC. STAIR, FOUNDATION, AND WALKWAYS.

EXISTING NORTH WALL.
REMOVE DOWNSPOUT.
REMOVE PORTION OF RAILING TO ACCOMMODATE NEW WORK.
REMOVE PORTION OF BRICK AND CMU WALL IN THIS AREA. PROVIDE NEW STEEL
LINTEL WITH MIN. 8” BEARING ON EACH END AND NEEDLING AND SHORING
AS REQUIRED TO STABALIZE WALL ABOVE.
REMOVE STOREFRONT AND GLAZING SYSTEM.
