Dear Mr. Lillig:
We have addressed the conditions attached to the approval granted by the Special
Studies Committee on December 3, 2002,regarding the amended landscape plan for
Block A of West Carmel Center. We hope this letter and the enclosed information
will adequately respond to the referenced conditions.

Striping fi"om the center of the building front to the stairs located on
the opposite side of the drive aisle shall have a wallo,vay striped jar
pedestrians,
The enclosed Amended Landscape Plan shows the addition of this
striping.
Define the limits olareas to be mulched and to be seeded
This information has been added to the attached plan.
The petitioner is required to obtain a variance from the Board of
Zoning Appeals relative to the lack offoundation plantings at the
rear of the huilding on the amended landscape plan.
Included with this tetter is the application information requesting to
be ptaced on the January agenda of the Board of Zoning Appeals.
It was stated that some varieties of Honey Locusts have thorm;
Please verifY that the species selected is of the thornless variety
The species sho\'v'll on the attached landscape plan are thornless.
The proposed plantings located in the utility easements along
Cornmerce Drive and 106';' Streef need to be moved
The landscape plan has been revised such that all proposed plantings
are outside of the existing utility easements,

The existing building does not have a building .ft"ont in compliance with the US 42 J
Overlay Ordinance. Confirm that a variance was received for this deviation Fam
regulations.
'The meeting minutes from the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting addressing this issue
are enclosed. A variance was granted for the change in building face. It was determined
that the proposed architecture met the intent of the ordinance,
The Urban Forester must approve the amended landscape plan
The revised plan was reviewed by the Urban Forester prior to attending the Special
Studies Committee meeting on December 3rd. At that time, all comments from the
Urban Forester had been addressed. However, since that time, the plan has been
revised in accordance with the comments from the Special Studies Committee
referenced above. Therefore, the revised plan was submitted to the Urban Forester for
a supplementary review. Any comments conveyed to our office as a result of this
review will be quickly incorporated into the plan.
The revised, amended landscape plan and BZA submittal package have been included for your review.
