The approval of this variance will not be injurious to the public health, safety, 1110rals and general welfare of the community because: The existing sign bas not presented anv problems or concerns as to those elements set forth above 2. The use and value of the area attjacent to the property included in the variance will not bc affected in a substantially adverse manner becausc: The sign is tastefiIl and does not detract from the existing aesthetics of the surrounding propertv. 3. Inc STATEMENT OF EXPLANATION The applicant is requesting a variance from section 25-7-02-5(c) ofthe Ordinance relating to maximum sign area from the allowable 30 square feet to 110.5 square feet and Section 25-7-02-5(d) of the Ordinance relating to maxin1Um height of a ground sign from 5 feet to 8.5 feet for a pre- existing non-permitted sign. STATEMENT OF SUPPORT A donor procured the existing sign and presented it to the school without determining the developmental standards for its placement. By inadvertence, the school accepted the sign without realizing that it was not in compliance with the Zoning Ordinances To applicant's knowledge, and after consulting with the statTofthe Department of Community Services, there have been no complaints or negative comments regarding the sign that ha been in existence for more than one year.
