Narrative
Introduction
The project site is located approximately 288 feet to the south from intersection
of Old Meridian Street and Pennsylvania Street in Carmel, Indiana, and is
bounded by undeveloped site to the north and south, by Old Meridian Street to
the west and Pennsylvania Street to the east.
Description
This project consists of the construction of proposed professional building and
associated parking areas and landscaped areas. Additional project activities
include the construction of a proposed storm sewer system on-site as well as off-
site for draining the site to the existing pond on east side of existing retail
complex.
u
Existinq Site Description
The site is presently undeveloped. Under existing conditions, the project site
consists of grass and some trees that will be removed by the developer. A soil
map from United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service
identifies Miami (MmB2) soil on the property and is included in the Reference
Maps. Existing drainage characteristics are such that the site generally sheet
flows from the northwest corner of the site to the southeast corner of the site.
Proposed Conditions
Proposed drainage, for the developed site, consists of a system of new storm
inlets and connecting pipes on-site and off-site. The proposed drainage system
will convey the run-off from the subject site to the existing detention facility
located on the northeast side from the site. The storm drainage system is
designed to accommodate the direct runoff from the subject site. All new storm
sewers are designed to accommodate a 1 O-year storm event using the Rational
Method. Calculations are included in this report.
