5h. Docket No. 11-03 Z; Danbury Common Area and other parcels (P-l Rezone)
Petitioner seeks a favorable recommendation of a rezone from R-l/Residential to P-
IIParks and Recreation on 13.69:1:: acres. The site is located generally south of 146th
Street between Dublin Drive and Jason Street. The site is zoned R -1 /Residence.
Filed by the Department of Community Services.
The City is requesting a favorable recommendation from the Plan Conmlission on their petition
to rezone 13.69 acres generally south of 146lh Street between Dublin Drive and Jason Street from
R-1IResidential to P-1/Parks and Recreation. Please see the enclosed ordinance for additional
infomlation. It contains, on the last page, a map of the area proposed for rezoning. This
infonnation was also distributed last month with the agenda and infonnation packets.
This site was one of the sites initially identified for rezoning to the P-1 designation at the time the
zone was created in November of 200 1. Several properties have been successfully taken through
this process and other locations throughout the community will be presented as time allows at
future meetings. These include other "common areas", school, and church sites.
The Department recommends that this item be forwarded to the Subdivision Committee on
July 1 st for further discussion.
