Below is the list of responses from Opus and the Capital Group team regarding the questions posed in the draft committee report
sent to Opus on 8/28/08.
1. The Department would like to know if the Petitioner has decided what the names on each building will be. Also,
the petitioner needs to propose color and lighting style for the three signs to maintain unity in the center.
Petitioner Response: Capital Group would like to reserve the right for future use on all three (3) buildings. No current
plans to install these wall signs and CG will submit all required details when we apply for the sign permits in the future.
2. The other two signs facing Pennsylvania 5t. are allowed 6 ft. in height and 75 sq. ft. in sign area. The petitioner will
need to provide a detailed rendering of the dimensions of the actual sign area to make sure the sign size is in
compliance with the Sign Ordinance.
Petitioner Response: The signs will not exceed 6' in height and the sign area will be 75 sq feet or less and will comply
with Carmel's requirements. A rendering can be forwarded once the signage design is completed.
3. Petitioner, please bring a sample of the material that will be used to place this "cover" over the existing
monument signs. Or, bring photos of existing similar sign types.
Petitioner Response: Please see photos of similar materials used in another project. Sample material was not
available on short notice.
4. Petitioner, please verify if the directory signs will be illuminated.
Petitioner Response: These signs will not be illuminated
5. Each directory sign will have Capital Group Companies text at the top and perhaps list the different divisions of the
company located within each building. Petitioner, please verify this.
Petitioner Response: That is correct
6. The petitioner will need to notify staff and the Committee of plans for the existing concrete walllsign that has
the name of this building on it.
Petitioner Response: Signage in location 1 and 2 will be removed

7, There will be a second directory sign fOr this building, located in front of the main entrance to INO 1. The petitioner will
need to explain the reasoning for two signs to be located so closely to this building.
Petitioner Response: One sign will be for directing visitor's to the correct building. The other sign will be the actual
building directory sign.
8. These directional signs will be 3 feet in height and the sign area will be less than three square feet, therefore making
them exempt signs, The Petitioner will need to provide dimensions for the actual sign area on this sign to ensure
it complies with the Sign Ordinance. Will the signs be illuminated? The Petitioner will need to verify this.
Petitioner Response: These signs will NOT be illuminated. The sign area will be 3 sq feet or less per side. Please see
attached example directory sign.
9. The Petitioner will need to display exactly what text will be on each of these directional signs. The third
directional sign will be located at the north end of IND 1. It will specify where the service entrance is for that building.
Petitioner, please verify this.
Petitioner Response: These signs will be used for Delivery or Service direction or Visitor direction only
10. Petitioner, please present a before and after photo of each sign location with existing or no signage to modified
and new signage.
Petitioner Response: Please see attached existing sign photos and review CG Typical Sign Types for what future
signs will look like. See attached as-built sign existing in another campus,
