Winston,
It is always nice to hear from you and I am sorry that some property owners, are not concerned in complying with
your covenants. I will take a look at a1I 3 properties today to see if they are in violation of our zoning ordinance. (I
have attached the ordinance for your convenience.) Our ordinance does allow for recreational vehicles to be
parked on driveways, but only under the circumstances listed in 25.04.01. Nevertheless, I will do whatever I can
to achieve compliance and educate these owners. I'll update you on the results of my inspections and any
enforcement action that I take.
Sincerely,
Kevin

Kevin,
The two homeowners referred to below know better than to have these on their property as they have been asked
by various neighbors to please remove them.
Could your department take it from here? Sorry to give you so much business from time to time but your
department renders a very valuable service for the City. There are some people that just do not want to do the
right thing and choose to violate ordinances! These people know better...
The Mayor shares my vision and concern for our aging neighborhoods, with the real, izatiion there are increasing
numbers, of areas in Carmel that are aging. It is incurnbent on us to do, everything we can to, help maintain good
home values and a high quality of (life in our great city. I continue to be committed, with our Mayor to this cause:.
A part of this is education and we keep driving this notion of keeping properties maintained and trailers, RV's and
the like off the property. A good curb appear makes for good home values and a positive future for our
neighborhoods.
If you would keep me in the loop regarding these homeowners,, I would appreciate it very much...
Thanks again for all that you have done for me as Brookshire's President and for the 400 homeowners in this
Association. We appreciate it.... Winston

I noticed that the Troyer''s, 11824 N. Gray Road, have a large boat parked on their driveway. I suspect they
do not know it's a violation.
Thank you!

Jobea,
I will certainly get a covenant into each newsletter - and thanks for the input.
I will see if this issue can be put onto the agenda for tonights meeting. I really don't know if the homeowner have any real
recourse if someone breaks one of these covenants...

Terri -
I noticed there will be a board meeting tomorrow night. Do you know whether there, has been any
progress on the revising of the covenants? The reason I ask, is I feel there should be a regular section in
every newsletter that highlights a covenant.
In particular, the issue of keeping boats, trailers, etc. on ones property is in direct violation of the
covenants. I have asked Winston to address this issue with two residents on our street alone. I do not
know what hind of response he has received, if any, however, both residents have refused to move the
boat/"trailer in question. Can the homeowners association do anything about this? The older our
neighborhood gets, the more lax we are in allowing violations, the harder it will be to enforce. Thanks for
listening.
