It is a violation of Carmel City Code § 6-114 which states: "Because of the danger to the health from vermin, the danger of personal injury to children attracted by such vehicles, danger of fire by the storage of gasoline and oil thereon, any abandoned, unlicensed, inoperable, disassembled, wrecked or junkedmotor vehicle on any street or public property for more than five days or upon any private property for more than 15 days, except as hereinafter provided, is declared to be a nuisance and unlawful." You were first made aware of this problem in January 2008. Since that time, you were able to license the vehicle and added air to the tires to achieve compliance. However, those fixes have only proven to be temporary, as the vehicle is in violation once again. Abandoned vehicles may be stored inside a completely enclosed garage legally, If iit continues to remain where it is currently located, further enforcement action may result which can include an appearance in Carmel City Court and the assessment of fines. Please either relocate the vehicles as directed, remove them from the property, or provide a permanent repair solution by June 18, 2008. If you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me at (317) 571'-2476. Thank you for your cooperation.
