RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION - TEMPORARY SIGNS)
Dear Sir or Madam
This letter is being provided to inform you that a temporary sign(s) violation at 2160
Keystone Way / 2160 E. 116`' St., the property listing for your business, has been brought to
this department's attention. BUSINESSES ARE NOT PZRff12 FD TO D1SPZI4Y
7E' MPORARYSIGNS, regardless of whether or not the sign is located on the business's
premises. According to S 25.07.01-04 Prohibited Sign (attached copy), of the Carmel/Clay
Zoning Ordinance the following sign(s) are prohibited:
0 Signs consisting of banners, posters, pennants, ribbons, streamers, strings of
light bulbs, spinners or similar devices, unless they are permitted specifically by
other sections of this Ordinance.
i) Signs which are located upon, over, or in any street or highway right-of-way,
except for official highway signs;
k) Signs which are established on trees, utility poles, or fences.
o) Lighter than air advertising devices.
Please remove all Temporary Signs by the end of business on August 5, 2008. This letter shall
serve as the first and final warning for this type of violation. After the date established by
the Violation Notice any temporary sign advertising for this establishment shall be
documented and formal enforcement action will be taken. At this point, your business should
be well aware of what type of signage is allowed according to Cannel/Clay Land Use
Regulations. Therefore, any future prohibited signage by your business will be considered by
this Department as a cost of doing business, and future violations will accompany a citation.
These citations can be issued daily as long as the violation persists, and these citations also
require an appearance in Carmel City Court.
