Dear Mr Brennan, Thanks very much for your return call this morning. Please see attached, a letter expanding on my objections to any extension of building permits being issued to the Laurelwood property adjacent to my own. i look forward to updates on this issue. Sincerely, Evan D Morris 317 581 1550 1 Mayor's office Kevin Brennan Aug 20, 2007 Dear Mr. Brennan, Pursuant to our phone conversation of this morning, I am writing to you to express my vehement objections to any extension of building permits being issued to the property at 1107 Laurelwood - directly in back (north) of my house. As you know, the original building permits to allow a (massive) extension of the property at 1107 Laurelwood were issued in August of 2005. Since then, my neighbors and I have been subjected to constant noise, every day, seven days per week for two years. The noise begins without fail at 10 or 20 minutes before lam every morning. There is no exception for holidays. We have been awakened by bulldozers and other loud and (Literally) house -shaking disturbances on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and even on July 4a'! The skyline behind our house has been irrevocably marred — apparently thanks to a loophole in the building codes allowing steep roofs to exceed the normal height limits. We have not been able to sit on our deck, toil in our vegetable garden or sleep late undisturbed for two years. Surely, two years is long enough for someone to make additions to their house and for the surrounding neighborhoods to be inconvenienced. To add insult to injury, a new excavation for a pool has just begun! The owners of the house in Laurelwood and their contractors have clearly not used their city -issued permits in good faith. Had they done so, they would have made better use of their time rather than subject their neighbors -to -be to unremitting trauma. If the city values the well-being of their citizens — all of their citizens- then they must deny any requests for extension of building permits at 1107 Laurelwood. Kindly share my concerns with your superiors. Thank you for your consideration. Evan D. Morris 10096 Mill Run. Carmel, IN 46032 317 581 1550 emorrisiupui.edu
