Professional Hotel Management September 25, 2008 August 4, 2008 (original) Daren Mindham City of Carmel Department of Community Services One Civic Square Carmel, IN 46032 Re: Renaissance Hotel, 11925 North Meridian St., Carmel, IN 46032 DevelopmentRequest for Final Inspection - Building Permit #07030052 Daren, The purpose of this letter is to request a final inspection of the referenced property and to transmit the schedule of plant substitutions (Attachment #1) and as-built landscaping plan (Attachment #2). The approved plan required 738 trees, shrubs & perennials. The as-built plan shows 1,019 plants providing a surplus of 281 plants. Attachment #1 has a list of item numbers and location ID's that are listed in the following Summary of Substitutions, Relocations & Additions for ease of locating on the table: 1. Deciduous Trees (+2) No substitutions were provided for the red sunset maples (items 1,2); imperial honey locusts (Items 3-5); shade master honey locusts (Items 6,7); northern red oaks (Items 8-14); and green vase zelkova (Items 15-20). 74 required per the approved plan. 76 planted per the as-built plan. 2 surplus trees (Item #22) 2. Evergreen Trees (+9) No substitutions were provided for the black hills spruce (Items 25-29); Serbian spruce (Items 30-32); and Colorado blue spruce (Items 33-35); however, (33) American hollies (Items 36-43) were relocated from various locations and replaced with mission arborvitae (Items 44-48). 136 required per the approved plan. 145 planted per the as"built plan. 9 surplus trees (Item #50) 3. Ornamental Trees (+8) No substitutions were provided for the white Chinese dogwood (Items #75-78); (10) paperbark maples (Items #63-66) were replaced with shadblow serviceberries (Items 53-52) on the north perimeter (NP) and (1) heritage river birch (Items 67-74) was replaced with a red jewel crab (Items 79-85) at the entry island (EI). (2) Japanese maples (Items 86,87) were added to the east commercial (EC). 124 required per the approved plan. 132 planted per the as-built plan. 8 surplus trees (Item #89) 4. Deciduous Shrubs (+166) (4) mariesi double file viburnum (Items 97-99) were relocated from the east hotel (EH) to the courtyard (NH). (156) gold flame spirea (Items 92-96) and (10) rhododendrons (Items 100,101) were added per the as-built plan. 68 required per the approved plan. 234 planted per the as"built plan. 166 surplus shrubs (Item #103) 5. Evergreen Shrubs (+76) (242) green luster hollies (Items 1 06-117) were relocated from various locations and replaced with green luster boxwoods (Items 118-130). (12) of the (36) Pfizer junipers (Items 118-120) were relocated from the east perimeter (EP) to the flagpole island (FPI). Perennials and Ground Cover (+20) No substations were provided for the big blue lily turi (Items 135,136). (6) hostas (Items 132-134) were relocated from the east commercial (EC) to the courtyard. (20) dwarifountain grass (Items 137, 138) were added. 21 required per the approved plan. 41 planted per the as-built plan. 20 surplus perennials (Hem #140) At this time the property as 21 dead or dying trees and (6) shrubs that our contractor, Enviroscapes Landscaping, will replace at the first opportunity in the Fall 2008. These trees & shrubs are as follows: (3) Red Sunset Maples loca.ted in the west perimeter (WP) (1) Shade master Honey Locust located in the east parking lot (EPL) (4) Northern Red Oak Located on the east commercial (EC) and east hotel (EH) (3) Green Vase Zelkova located in the south parking lot (SPL) (5) Shadblow Serviceberry located on the west perimeter (WP) and south perimeter (SP) (2) White Chinese Dogwoods located on the east commercial (EC) (2) Red Jewel Crab located on the east perimeter (EP) (1) Black Hills Spruce located on the west perimeter (WP) (6) Green luster boxwoods located on the east perimeter (EP) Winegardner & Hammons, Ihc. appreciates you taking the time to review and approve the plants as they are currently installed and request a return visit after the replacement trees have been planted. The tree replacement work will be completed no later than December 1,2008. In the unlikely event the work is not completed by this date, it is agreed that a re-inspection fee will be assessed by the City.
