Plan Review Date: September 22, 2004
Soils Infonnation: Soils have been dishrrbed by previous construction.
Additional infonnation about soils is available in the "Soil Survey of Hamilton County". The engineer and/or
developer should consider the need for an onsite soils investigation.
I have reviewed the plans for this project and have the following commeuts:
This site disturbs less than one acre. A Rule 5 plan is not required.
The label for the silt fence is hard to fmd or understand. An arrow from the C to the symbol 011
the plan would help.
The catch basins are labeled as dry wells but they look too shallow to be dry wens. Could the
pipe outlets be covered with debris?
Should you have questions conceming these comments, please contact me.

Re: Mayflower P8.rk - Bell Horn
Dear Mr. Settlemyre:
We have reviewed the construction plans submitted to the Hamilton County Surveyor's
Office on September 8,2004 fot" this project and have the following comments:
1, This projectfaIls within the jurisdiction of Hamilton County.
2. The proposed project does not fall in a rc;gulated drain watershed but is bordered
by the Crooked Creek Shed directly on the north side of the project.
3. The Hamilton County Surveyor's Office recommends against the proposed site
drainage. The dry wells in the parking lot may have served well when the site
was used for semi trailer parking, but will probably not function to the ovmer's
expectatiol1 for a bU3iness parking lot. We would recommend catch basins and
piping to the storm sewer located north of this site.
4. The drainage in the southern portion of Mayflower Park is also in poor shape and
our office gets complains of standing water and no adequate drains available.
5. Please show in the construction plans where the water will stand in the parking lot
during a 100 year 24 hour storm event.
6. It appears the loadmg dock will have a bottom elevation (I assume) lower then the
surrounding site. Where will the water drain that accumulates in this loading
dock?

'-
7. I would strongly suggest looking at the site during a rain event and consider
deSigning a more appropriate stonn sewer system. The site has wetlands to the
west and north and Will likely stand water during much of the year.
8. Please note that further Comments m.ay be necessary at a later date.
Should you have any questions, I can be reached at 317.776-8495.
Sincerely~
.~~
