The DMS50 lumina ire consists of a
sealed optical chamber made of a hydro-
formed reflector permanently sealed on
an injected refractor, with internal prisms
only (SHAlSSA optics), SCB/SHB optics
use a tempered-glass lens.
A toolfree lamp access shutter and
sleeve, with self-adjusting injection-
molded silicone gasket, keep the
optical chamber hermetically sealed_
The optical system is placed in a cast-
nluminum technical ring, wb.ich is
assembled in a spun and cast .aluminum
housing suspended under a cast-alu-
minum fitter.
A large, bell-sllaped spun-aluminum
skirt is mechanically assembled to the
technical ring,
The DMS50 luminaire is UL and CSA
appraved,

GENERAL
Each Gardea OF Series luminaire
is a floodlight for high intensity
discharge lamps. Internill components
ilre totally enclosed, rain-tight.
dust-tight. and corrosion-resistant.
Housing. door frame. and knuckle
assembly are all die Cilst aluminum.
A choice of nine optical systems are
available. OF7 units are suitable for
wall. stanchion. pole. j-box and
conduit mOlHlling. OF12 units are
suitable for wall. stanchion or pole
mounting.
HOUSING
Single piece aluminum housing is die
cast in a soft barrel form Memory
retenlive gilsket mates with door frame
to exclude moisture. dust. insects and
pollutants from electrical and opticill
systems.
DOOR FRAME
Single piece die cast aluminum
door frame integrates to housing form.
Captive stainless steel hinge pins
allow access to luminaire for
installation and lamping. Door frame
is hinged closed and secured to
~lOusing with cilptive stainless steel
recessed allen-head bolts. Heat and
impact resistant 3/16" tempered glass
lens ami one-piece silicone gasket are
mechanically secured to door frame
with (6) galvanized steel retainers.
KNUCKLE
High strength die cast aluminum
knuckle features an integral splice
compartment. A single. captive 3/8"
stainless steel allen-head bolt and
a stainless steel nut securely lock
knuckle aiming teeth in 5" increments.
Opposite cover plate is removable for
access to splices. Knuckle assembly
is fully gasketed.
OPTICAL SYSTEMS
Ttle wide. vertical and medium
flood, and the horizontal spot optical
systems are homogenous sheet and
extruded aluminum, electrochemically
brightened, anodized and sealed. The
segmented reflectors are set in faceted
arc tube image duplicating patterns to
achieve required distributions. The
narrow spot reflector is hydroformed
Alzak' aluminum.
ELECTRICAL
Each t1igh power factor ballast is the
separate component magnetic type
capable of providing reliable lamp
starting to -20oF.
LAMPHOLDER
Pulse rated mogul hase lilrllpllOlder
is glazed porcelain witl1nickel plated
screw shell.
FINISH
Each standard color luminaire
receives a fade and abrasion resistant.
electrostatically applied, thermally
cured. textured polyester powder

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Gardco DF7 is a flood luminaire with a choice of (4) precision faceted optical
systems. Each is designed to provide a specific distribution and sharp cutoff of stray light. The contemporary soft
form diecast housing is available in a variety of finishes creating compatibility with most architectural and landscape
clemenls, Tile high strength diecast aluminum knuckle features an integral splice compartment eliminating tile need
for a supplementary junction box and thereby permitting closer to grade mounting.
