Gentlemen:
My thanks to you for carrying out the public hearing on Dr. Koss I peti-
tion in a quiet, orderly fashion.
After a perusal of the statements made at the hearing, several important
considerations become apparent which should be brought to the attention
of the comrrision:
1. Of the eight property owners whose property is abutting
the proposed project, only three spoke against it.
2. One of the objectors, Richard Swift, who spoke against
the project is separated by twelve pieces of property
(approximately t mile) and ~ of ~ property owners
between he and the project spoke against it.
3. Of the numerous signers to the petition presented, approxi-
mately 90% are so far removed from the project that it
would have absolutely no effect on them..
4. One of the adjacent property owners, Frank Rhea, has
conducted a business in his home and has, as he admitted
at the hearing, a store license issued to his home address.
5. The objectors had people present at the hearing for the
sole purpose of "swelling the crowdtt.. These people cams
from as far away as i mile (Dr.. John Warren, for example,
who lives i mile south of 116th Street).
6. Dr. Koss' plan is the only way to protect the adjacent
properties from the possibilities of other ungainly look-
ing commercial projects that most certainly will eventually <,
be established if this project is not approved.
Thank you for your fair consideration.
