RE: ADLS VIOLATION - SIMPLY LEISURE
Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is being provided to inform you that it has recently been brought to the City's attention
that the exterior of the structure at 522 South Rangeline Road, a property listed under your
ownership, has been altered without Plan Commission approval. This property is zoned 1-1, an
industrial district. As per §20A.00.02.13 of the Carmel Zoning Ordinance...
Architectural Design, Exterior Lighting, Landscaping and Signage. To insure the
compatibility of the proposed use with adjoining areas, the Commission shall
review the Architectural Design, Exterior Lighting, Landscaping and Signage
(ADLS) application of any proposed use of any Lot or parcel of ground within the
corporate limits of the City of Carmel, Indiana, and within the 1-1 District prior to the

by the Commission the Architectural Design, Exterior Lighting, Landscaping and
Signage (ADLS) shall not be materially or substantially changed or altered without
the prior approval of the Commission.
Site investigation revealed that construction has commenced on an accessory structure without
securing proper permits or ADLS approval. As such, the changes require an ADLS approval to be
permitted. Please contact the City of Carmel's Planning Division at (317) 571-2417 for more
information and the process for applying for the ADLS approval.
Please either restore the exterior to the original condition/design or apply for an ADLS Amendment
by December 6, 2008. Failure to comply will result in further enforcement action. If you have any
