Kissel 531 Fast Ave. NW Carmel, Indiana 46032 RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION / NO SIGN PERMIT Dear Sir or Madam: This letter is being provided to inform you that a sign violation(s) has been brought to this department's attention. The sign(s) advertises Mary Kissel Photography, located at 531 First Ave. NW, in the City of Carmel, a property listed under your ownership. All signs located in Clay Township are required to have sign permits according to Section 25.07.07 of the Carmel/ClayZoning Ordinance that states the following: Except as otherwise provided in this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person to establish any sign within the jurisdictional area of this Ordinance, or cause the same to be done without first obtaining a sign permit for each sign from the Administrator as required by this Ordinance. Specific regulations apply to different types of signs, depending on the nature and location of the sign. For these regulations and to obtain a sign permit, please contact Rachel Boone at (317) 571-2280. However, until a sign permit is obtained, the sign must be removed. Please remove the sign by October 24, 2008. After this date, if the sign is not removed, additional enforcement action will be necessary to include the issuance of daily citations as long as the violation persists. Also, per our conversation, your property is zoned R 2 (residential) and any activities of a business nature must meet the standards set forth in the Home Occupation ordinance of the Carmel/Clay Land Use Regulations.
