HomeMy WebLinkAbout00002585Cityof rune DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SERVICES Division of Building and Code Services January 21, 2009 Curiosities 15 East Main Street Carmel, IN 46032 Re: Zoning and City Code Violation at 15 East Main Street Dear Mr. Martin VIA CERTIFIED MAIL COPY This letter is being provided to inform you that the display of merchandise for sale in the public right-of-way at 15 East Main Street, is prohibited as per Carmel City Code Chapter 6-59, which states: No person shall use any street, sidewalk or other public place for the display or sale of goods or merchandise, or write or affix any signs or advertisements on any pavement. Furthermore, the Carmel Clay Land Use Regulations specifically prohibit the display of merchandise for sale on any public sidewalk: 25.21.03 Outdoor Displays shall not be located within nor encroach upon: A. Any public right-of-way; B. Any minimum required setback yard, unless otherwise approved by the Commission; C. Any drainage easement; D. A fire lane; E. A maneuvering aisle; F. A parking area. To avoid further enforcement action, please permanently discontinue displaying merchandise on the public sidewalk by January 26, 2009.
