5. Docket No. 09010002 ADLS Amend: Exh'a Space Storage - Signage
The applicant seeks approval for tlu'ee new signs. The site is located at 370 Bauer Dr. W. and is zoned
B-3/Business. Filed by Brent Bennett of A-1 Expeditors ou behalf of Extra Space Storage.
Self Storage is changing its name to Extra Space Storage. The applicant is proposing two new wall signs and
two new awning signs. The main wall sign will be 79.61 sq. ft. with white internally illuminated letters mounted
on a raceway. The Department requests the racewa~~ be painted to match the brick. 80 sq. ft. is allowed by
the Sigu Ordinance. The second wall sign will be 23.98 sq. ft. with green xnd blue background and white and
ivory lettering. It will be non-illuminated. The awning sign facing south has "Customer Service Center" and the
address applied in white text. This will be 15 sq. ft. There will also be an awning sign facing east that will have
the phone number and website in white text. It will be 1.34 sq. ft. Together; these three signs will be 40.32 sq. ft.
80 sq. ft. is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. (The Sign Ordinance considers awning signs to wall signs, and they
contribute towards the total square footage.)
The Dept. of Community Services recommends the Committee votes to approve this item.
