(Petitioner or his representative to sign). 13112 4 Page 3 of 4 - The approval of this variance will not be injurious to the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community because: The strict application of the terms of the Zoning Ordinance to the property will result in practical difficulties in the use of the property because: Firestone Service Center 7) Explanation of requested Development Standards Variance: Petitioner requests a variance of development standards of the Carmel 1 Zoning Ordinance to allow for identification wall signage for the proposed Firestone Service Center at 11055 North Michigan Road. j Section 25.07.02-08 -Single Tenant Building b) Number and Type: to allow three (3) wall signs for identification, one ' on the front (west) elevation, one on the right side (south) elevation, and one on the left side (north) elevation. c) Maximum Sign Area: to allow three (3) 48.83 square foot wall signs for identification, for a total of 146.49 square feet. ' e) Location: to allow two (2) wall signs for identification which do not face a public street, one on the right side (south) elevation and one on the left side (north) elevation. ' 1370766_1 Firestone Service Center 8) Statements Supporting the Development Standards Variance: ' The proposed building has its primary Frontage to the west abutting U.S. 421. However, the north and south fagades directly face the southbound and northbound traffic of U.S. 421. In order to direct the wall signage toward the traffic for better identification from U.S. 421, Petitioner is proposing to place one wall sign on the south facade to identify the building to the northbound traffic on U.S. 421 and requesting that another wall sign be permitted to be placed on the north facade to identify the building to the southbound traffic on U.S. 421.
