strings of light bulbs, spinners or similar devices, unless they are permitted
specifically by other sections of this Ordinance.
This letter shall serve as the first and final warning for this type of violation.
Please cease the illumination of these signs immediately and remove the
temporary sign from the site completely by February 19, 2009. Additional
inspections will be performed on the property incrementally, and any further
violations will result in further enforcement action, up to and including written
citations and associated court appearances and fines. If you have any questions

RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION — WINDOW SIGN(S)
Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is being provided to inform you that a window sign(s) violation has been
brought to this department's attention. The sign(s) advertises for Hot Box Pizza,
located at 1 East Carmel Drive, in the City of Carmel, a property listed under your
ownership. According to the sign regulations of the Carmel/Clay Zoning
Ordinance the signage is in violation of the ordinance. Section 25.07.02-12 B
Illuminated Window Signs states:
1) NUMBER: One (1) sign per tenant/property owner and may be in
addition to any other permitted signs including but not limited to non -illuminated
Window Signs.
2) MAXIMUM SIGN AREA: Three (3) square feet
3) LOCATION: As per definition of Window Sign.
4) DESIGN: No restrictions except for those signs which require approval
by the Commission. However, signs in Unified Centers must be of a
similar design and style of construction.
5) ILLUMINATION: Permitted.
6) REQUIRED APPROVAL: ADLS approval is required for all permanent
signs that are established in a Zoning District and/or Overlay Zone
requiring ADLS approval.
7) SIGN PERMIT: Required.
8) FEES: Required.
Furthermore, a temporary yard sign was observed along the Rangeline oad
frontage of the site. BUSINESSES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DIS AY
TEMPORARY SIGNS, regardless of whether or not the sign is located o the
business's premises. According to Section 25.07.01-4 Prohibited Signs, the
Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance the following sign(s) are prohibited:
