The site is located at 11333 N. Meridian St. and is zoned B-5. Filed by Paul Reis of Bose McKinney & Evans on behalf of First Merchant's Bank. The Applicant seeks design approval for a new wall sign. The proposed sign is 100.86 sq. ft., and 105 sq. ft. is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. It will be black during the day and white at night. The logo will remain gold dLUing the day and night. The logo is 13'% of the total sign area and is in compliance with the Sign Ordinance. **Please note: the sign shown in your packet is the wrong size and text. The actual sign will only have the logo and First Merchants. It will be the size detailed above. The proposed color of the sign is the reason for the ADLS Amendment It does not match the sign package for this complex. The sigu package for Meridian Plaza I, II, and III was established in 1987 and 1988 with docket numbers 102-87 ADLS, 107-87 ADLS and 61-88 DP/ADLS: green letters on the building that illuminate green at night. The past approval for the ground signs also required green lettering on a silver background, which matches the buildings. The Applicant's request does not take into consideration the consistency of all signs in this complex. The Department does not feel that this tenant should be allowed a different color, because it would break the aesthetic verity of the signs in the complex. All signs on Meridian Plaza I, II, and III have maintained green sign faces since the buildings were constructed in the 1980s. The Department thinks this sign package works well for this complex. We do not feel now is the time to change it for one tenant. If the Applicant would like to propose a change for the entire complex, the Department would feel more comfortable supporting the proposed sign. The Dept of Community Services recommends neeative consideration of this item
